Now accepting beta reader applications!
After well over a decade in development, the epic series I've been working on has reached the point where I'm ready to have other eyes on it. In the past, I've relied exclusively on close family as my early readers, but I've several reasons for not wanting to go that route this time. If you've ever wanted to get an early look at a book or be part of bringing a book to life, this could well be the opportunity you've been looking for!

Thank you for your interest in beta reading Awakening: Chronicles of the Coherence, Volume 1. Below you'll find general book info, tropes, and trigger warnings.
Awakening
While life on the streets can be lonely and often dangerous, ever since awakening without memories but with voices in his head prone to arguing and name calling, a young boy living beneath Seattle, who goes by Kid, hasn’t ever really been alone.
One day, the touch of an ominous, gloom-enshrouded hand of a criminal overlord sparks Kid’s rapid development of new abilities. He soon gets a cryptic message that this gloomsome hand might be the key to both recovering his past and staving off the end of the world. Kid must use his newfound powers to avoid the Citizenship, Housing & Logistics Authority--the nationalized police, unaffectionately known as the Chill--and infiltrate the criminal organization of the man with a gloomsome hand to find his missing past and discover what it’s like to not be interminably alone. He may even stumble upon a way to save humanity.

Feedback goals
Think big picture. How do you feel about the characters, the setting? Do decisions and emotional responses make sense? What do you think about the plot developments? Obviously, you are welcome to leave comments about typos or confusing sentences and the like, but those aren't the things I want you focused on considering. Be respectful. Belligerent, mean spirited, or bad faith commentary will result in the end of the Beta-Author relationship. Let's try foster an environment of mutual respect.
